And they lived happily ever after
Charles Perrault’s collection Histories, or Tales from Past Times includes some of the most famous fairy tales of all: “Le Petit Chaperon rouge” (Little Red Riding Hood), “La Belle au Bois dormant” (Sleeping Beauty), “Le Maître Chat, ou le Chat botté” (Puss in Boots), and “Cendrillon, ou la petite Pantoufle de verre” (Cinderella). Each tale ends with an ironic chivalrous message, the “moralité”. The edition shown here was published after Perrault’s death.
